Founder Carolina Díaz began baking from her home in 2020, sharing her signature tres leches cake, which quickly gained a loyal local following. What started as a small home-based business has grown into a full-fledged dessert shop — a dream five years in the making.
"Sugar Queen began at home with my signature product — tres leches cake," said Carolina Díaz. "It's been such a success thanks to our amazing customers who have supported us since the beginning."
When Díaz first visited Colony Ridge to see her property, she immediately felt inspired by the area's growth. "I liked it here and I had a vision," she shared — a vision that would soon become Sugar Queen Dessert Shop.

Located at 1457 County Road 5021, Cleveland, TX 77327, Sugar Queen offers a wide variety of homemade sweets, custom cakes, hot and iced coffee, seasonal frappes, and ice cream. The shop also features a rotating menu of trending desserts and creative new flavors, with plans to introduce breakfast options in the near future.
"Everything takes time," Carolina added, "but it's coming."
